The Launch of Doge-1 Satellite by Elon Musk is Set for 2023.
The Doge-1 satellite, which will carry out a mission to explore the moon and display advertisements for Dogecoin, is set to launch in June 2023. The satellite was paid for in Dogecoin by Canadian company Geometric Energy, and will lift off from Florida on a Falcon 9 rocket, independently of Starship tests on the Texas coast. The news comes after Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweeted in May 2021 that his private satellite company SpaceX would launch Doge-1 to the moon in 2022, before never mentioning the mission again. In late 2021, Dogecoin fans also claimed SpaceX may integrate the Dogecoin blockchain network into its satellite-based WiFi system Starlink to enable Dogecoin transactions globally. The current trade price of Dogecoin is $0.08, up 9.5% over the last 30 days.
