
Survey Shows Female Crypto Investors are More Motivated by Financial Independence with Women Holding Higher Crypto Investment Values than Men
A recent study by Indian crypto exchange WazriX has found that financial independence is the top motivating factor for women investors in cryptocurrency. The study also shows that women investors are becoming more active in the crypto market, with transactions increasing by 3.3% over the past year. Female users on WazriX hold a total amount of Rs 354.9 crores in their wallets, with an average cryptocurrency value of Rs 9,650, almost 30% higher than male users. Women investors prefer Bitcoin, followed by Tether, the WazirX token, Ethereum, Shiba Inu, and Dogecoin. The majority of women investors are in the age group of 30-45 years, followed by 18-30 years. Financial independence, utility, and potential high returns were found to be the primary reasons for women’s investment in cryptocurrency, with 25% expressing that it earns them social recognition. In another survey by Indian crypto exchange BuyUCoin, over 25% of their user base are female; 30% are engineers and IT professionals, 15% are from the finance industry, and 15% are self-employed or involved in real estate. Cryptocurrency investments are unregulated and can be highly risky, with no regulatory recourse for any loss from such transactions.
