Potential Dogecoin (DOGE) Price Forecast 2025-2030: Insights from DOGE’s Market Trends
The Dogecoin community have responded to the debut of Shiba Inu’s Shibarium with calls for developers to upgrade Dogecoin. The developers have now released “lib-dogecoin 0.1.2” with the aim of improving the use and interoperability of the cryptocurrency which could draw attention back to its network from Shibarium. Dogecoin was initially created as a parody but has become as well-known as Bitcoin thanks to meme culture. Despite mostly performing poorly in 2022, Dogecoin experienced a surge in value when mentioned on social media by tech and entertainment giants such as Elon Musk, Snoop Dogg, and Mark Cuban. Dogecoin is now the 10th largest cryptocurrency by market capitalisation and has been used to raise funds for various causes such as building water wells in Kenya and sponsoring the Jamaican bobsleigh team. Dogecoin has a loyal and active community and is traded on major cryptocurrency exchanges such as Coinbase, Gemini, and Binance. A foundation was formed in 2014 to support and govern the project but dissolved over time, but in 2021 was reinvigorated with a new team and directors including Billy Markus, co-founder of Dogecoin, Vitalik Buterin, founder of Ethereum, and Jared Birchall representing Elon Musk. Despite its origins as a joke currency, Dogecoin’s popularity has led to other memecoins entering the market, and it remains one of the most recognised cryptocurrencies. Its online communities have been vital in its success, with Twitter and Reddit communities boasting 3.7 million and 2.4 million members respectively.
