Elon Musk has fuelled speculation about his support of cryptocurrency after posting a meme featuring the infamous internet emoji Pepe. The tweet read: “The first amendment is for sharing memes with frens.” The second aspect of the meme, which featured an image of Pepe in military fatigues, added: “The second amendment is for when they try and stop me from sharing memes with frens.” While there was no explicit reference to cryptocurrency, fans speculated that the tweet referred to the Pepe-inspired cryptocurrency, Pepecoin. Musk has previously championed rival virtual currency Dogecoin.
