Organizing a Holy Pilgrimage to Japan to Meet the Dogecoin Dog through DAO

Doge enthusiasts now have the chance to make a pilgrimage to Sakura, Japan, to meet the wide-eyed Shiba Inu dog that inspired the popular Dogecoin cryptocurrency. The trip is organized by Own the Doge, a Dogecoin-oriented NFT community backed by Doge DAO, which is in turn a descendant of PleasrDAO, a collection of NFT artists and collectors. The trip will take place from May 3 to 7, and participants will visit dog-themed temples and statues in Tokyo, go-kart on city streets, and attend a Geisha performance dinner. They will also visit Kabosu, the real-life Doge who resides in Sakura, where there are plans to erect a bronze statue of the iconic canine.
Individuals can apply to join the trip, and one lucky winner will have their trip fee and airfare covered by Doge DAO. To be eligible, they must own at least one Doge Pixel NFT, which is a fraction of the original Doge meme that PleasrDAO bought from Kabosu’s owner in 2021 for $4 million. The more Doge Pixels a person owns, the higher their chances of winning the raffle.
Last month, PleasrDAO auctioned off the couch from the original Doge meme for $35,000, with proceeds going to Save the Children.
