In 2023, Make Secure Investments: FBI Warns of Fake Play-To-Earn Gaming Apps Used by Hackers to Steal Cryptocurrency including Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, and SignUp Token
The FBI in the US has warned that hackers are targeting “play-to-earn” mobile and online games, using custom-created gaming apps that promise large financial rewards. Hackers develop a relationship with victims over time, and when they stop depositing money, their wallets are drained by enticing them with fake rewards. These scams have resulted in the theft of millions of dollars’ worth of cryptocurrency from unsuspecting users. Regulatory bodies worldwide are calling for regulations to prevent cyber scams surrounding cryptocurrency.
In the cryptocurrency market, Dogecoin has rebounded by 4.29% in the last 24 hours but still indicates a weekly decline of 6.31%. Shiba Inu registered a 3.15% spike in its price after the beta launch of its layer-2 blockchain Shibarium, with over 602 million SHIB removed from circulation. SignUp Token is offering a simplified interface, allowing an average crypto investor to invest in cryptocurrency in a far easier way. The token stands out from other cryptocurrencies as it offers a simple and convenient way to invest in DeFi companies by letting consumers sign up with just their email addresses to secure a token. The project has a target of 1 million email sign-ups to go live on the Uniswap exchange platform.
