Elon Musk Promotes DOGE Once More, Reaffirms Commitment to Showcasing McDonald’s Happy Meal Consumption on Television
Tech billionaire Elon Musk has reiterated his offer to eat a Happy Meal on live TV if McDonald’s accepts Dogecoin as a form of payment. Musk confirmed his previous statement in response to a tweet by a graphic designer, who tagged the official McDonald’s Twitter account and reminded them of Musk’s offer. Musk’s support for Dogecoin has been well-known, with his various companies, including Tesla and the Boring Company, accepting the cryptocurrency as a form of payment. Tesla even allows customers to purchase merchandise using Dogecoin. Musk has also teased that his space exploration company, SpaceX, will follow suit. In addition to his business ventures, Musk has personally expressed his support for Dogecoin and admitted to owning some digital assets, including Bitcoin, Ether, and Dogecoin. However, Musk’s tweets and statements about Dogecoin have not been without controversy. He is currently facing a $258 billion lawsuit from Dogecoin investors who accuse him of insider trading and manipulating the price of Dogecoin through his bullish moves. The lawsuit alleges that Musk’s actions artificially inflated the price of Dogecoin by more than 36,000% and then caused it to crash, benefiting him financially. Despite the legal trouble, Musk’s support for Dogecoin continues. The cryptocurrency saw a 2.89% price gain and was trading at $0.07048 as of Tuesday. It remains popular among meme coin enthusiasts and has often seen price surges triggered by Musk’s tweets and statements. Whether or not McDonald’s will accept Dogecoin as a form of payment remains to be seen, but Musk’s continued promotion of the cryptocurrency could help solidify its position in the mainstream.
