Elon Musk Insists on Receiving 3 Dogecoins for Visiting Twitter Headquarters.
Elon Musk, CEO of Twitter, has once again made a reference to the cryptocurrency Dogecoin (DOGE), stating that it would cost just 3 DOGE (valued at $0.23) to visit the company’s headquarters. The comments came in response to a Dogecoin UX/UI and graphic designer who was planning to visit the US next month for SpaceX’s Starship Launch and had requested to visit Twitter headquarters. While the comments were made in a lighthearted tone, they have caught the public’s attention, with DOGE supporters using them to call attention to the cryptocurrency. Musk has previously teased about integrating DOGE payments into Twitter, but there is little evidence to suggest that he is working with developers to do so. However, Musk’s affinity for DOGE payments was highlighted when Tesla and SpaceX started accepting the cryptocurrency as payment earlier this year. SpaceX even accepted DOGE payments for its “DOGE-1 Mission to the Moon” in 2021, and last October, Musk’s Boring Company allowed payments for its “Burnt Hair” fragrance product to be made using DOGE. While there is speculation that Twitter may integrate DOGE payments in the future, this has yet to be seen.
