Billy Markus, one of the creators of meme cryptocurrency Dogecoin, has praised the new Netflix series “Beef,” which features a character who makes money through investing in cryptocurrency. Markus shared a screenshot from the show, in which character Paul Cho is seen watching a crypto chart as he eats noodles. Cho is referred to as a “degenerate” due to his high-risk activities with cryptocurrency. The American dark comedy mini-series has been criticised by some members of the crypto community for exaggerating the price movements of bitcoin in its first episode. However, others have defended the portrayal, noting that dramatic events are common in films.
