Details of the Recently Exposed Shiba Inu (SHIB) Scam Revealed
The content marketing specialist of Shiba Inu, @LucieSHIB, has reported a new scam account on Twitter that is pretending to be associated with Shiba Inu. The scam team is operating under the account name @ShibaInuHQ and is offering a giveaway of SHIB tokens. They claim to be the official Twitter account for the Shiba Inu Ecosystem and use a profile picture from the SHIB Metaverse to deceive users.
The scam account is luring SHIB fans by promising a giveaway of SHIB, BONE, and LEASH tokens worth $30 million to active Ethereum wallets. However, this amount is much larger than what legitimate crypto exchanges or platforms usually offer in giveaways.
The “Shibarmy Scam Alerts” Twitter account has encouraged the SHIB community to report the scam account, and @LucieSHIB has already done so. To appear more legitimate, the scam account retweets posts from the official accounts of the Shiba Inu token and the SHIB Metaverse. They have even retweeted a post about a giveaway of virtual land in the Metaverse.
This is not the first time scammers have targeted the Shiba Inu community. Just a few days ago, another scammer claimed to have received a Shibarium testnet reward, which the SHIB anti-scam account clarified as false. The SHIB team has not been offering any rewards of this kind recently.
It is important for Shiba Inu fans and the broader crypto community to stay vigilant and report any suspicious accounts or activities. Scammers often try to take advantage of the popularity and enthusiasm surrounding cryptocurrencies to deceive users and steal their funds. By reporting scams and spreading awareness, users can help protect themselves and others from falling victim to fraudulent schemes.
