DAO Plans a Spiritual Journey to Meet the Iconic Dogecoin Mascot in Japan

The Own the Doge NFT community, backed by the Doge DAO decentralized autonomous organization, is offering members a pilgrimage to Sakura, Japan to meet Kabosu, the Shiba Inu featured in the original Doge meme. A member of the precursor to Own the Doge and PleasrDAO, tridog, said the pilgrimage is “a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to go back to [Kabosu’s] roots in and around Tokyo, a place known for its wacky and wonderful happenings.” Participants will visit dog-themed temples, go-kart on city streets, attend a Geisha performance dinner, and meet Kabosu and her owner Atsuko Sato. The trip costs $4,200, with the base fee and up to $1,500 for airfare potentially covered for one lucky winner who owns a Doge Pixel NFT. PleasrDAO bought the original Doge meme for $4m in 2021 and fragmented it into billions of DOG tokens, with individual pixels available for around $48 worth of DOG tokens. The Doge pilgrimage raffle is open to those who own at least one Doge Pixel NFT. PleasrDAO recently auctioned the couch from the original Doge meme for $35,000 to raise funds for charity Save the Children.
