Burger King UK’s Statement on Dogecoin (DOGE) Delights the Community

Burger King UK has caused excitement among Dogecoin enthusiasts after tweeting “we need doge” in response to a post about the acceptance of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency payments in Burger King Paris. Many Twitter users interpreted the tweet as support for Dogecoin and asked when it would be accepted as payment for meals. Burger King has interacted with Dogecoin before; Burger King Brazil announced last year that Dogecoin would be accepted as a form of payment for one of its dog snacks, and Burger King and Robinhood gave away free cryptocurrencies to U.S. customers in 2021. The fast-food chain tweeted a vague response to Elon Musk’s offer to eat a Happy Meal on TV if it started accepting Dogecoin payments for its meals in 2022, and enthusiasts took it as support for the cryptocurrency. It is still unclear when Burger King will start accepting DOGE for meals.
