Accusations Claim Elon Musk Funded an ‘Illegal Harassment Campaign’ Targeting Dogecoin Investors

Elon Musk’s legal battle with Dogecoin investors has taken a new turn, with the attorney representing the investors accusing Musk and his lawyer of employing “unlawful” tactics to discredit him and his clients. In a court filing, attorney Evan Spencer claimed that Musk’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, attacked his competency as a lawyer and disclosed a confidential letter between them to the New York Post. Spencer alleged that the leak violated ethics rules and accused Musk and his lawyer of trying to intimidate and harass him and his clients. This comes as part of a proposed $258 million class action lawsuit against Musk, in which investors claim he defrauded them while promoting Dogecoin. The lawsuit presents evidence of Musk’s ownership of a disputed wallet by citing a tweet he posted in February 2021, openly declaring his acquisition of Dogecoin. The investors claim Musk exploited Dogecoin for personal gain by tweeting, using paid influencers, and appearing on “Saturday Night Live.” The lawsuit also points to Musk’s April sale of approximately $124 million worth of Dogecoin, which coincided with Musk replacing Twitter’s logo with Dogecoin’s iconic Shiba Inu logo, leading to a spike in the cryptocurrency’s value. The dispute between Musk and the investors highlights the ongoing controversy surrounding the charismatic billionaire and his influence on the cryptocurrency market.
